Giant Eagle Inc. is ranked sixth in the top 50 largest Pittsburgh Area employers by the Pittsburgh Business Times. Owned and operated by the Shapira family, the retail and wholesale grocery chain was established in 1918.
Giant Eagle is actively involved in local initiatives like charitable donations, community partnerships, and educational outreach. They have been a supporting sponsor of the South Hills Chamber of Commerce for the past three years. Their representatives have served on the Chamber leadership roles for more than a decade.
